Resident Doctor Strike

Resident Doctors (or Junior Doctors) are striking from 7am on Tuesday 7 April 2026 to 6.59am on Monday 13 April 2026.

This strike is expected to impact all NHS services, including GP practices where a number of resident doctors are working. 

During this time:

• Please think carefully about which NHS service you use. 
• We aim to operate as normal but we will have increased pressures
• Call 999 only in life threatening emergencies 
• Mental health crisis services remain available through usual routes
• Many issues can be managed at your local pharmacy or urgent treatment centre
